Le possibili complicazioni associate all’endoscopia gastrointestinale includono e non sono limitate a perforazioni, febbre, aspirazioni, emorragie, infezioni, ipotensione, reazioni allergiche ai farmaci, aritmia o arresto cardiaco, depressione o arresto respiratorio. Inoltre, le complicazioni che possono verificarsi con il bendaggio esofageo includono e non sono limitate allo spostamento del bendaggio, costrizione toracica, dolore retrosternale, disfagia o odinofagia e ulcera post-EVL con o senza sanguinamento, aumento della gastropatia ipertensiva portale, batteriemia, nausea, dolore, lacerazione, formazione di stenosi, perforazione esofagea, ostruzioni, recidiva di varici e risanguinamento.
Possible complications associated with the gastrointestinal endoscopy include and not limited to perforations, fever, aspirations, haemorrhage, infections, hypo-tension, allergic reactions to medication, cardiac arrhythmia or arrest, respiratory depression or arrest. Furthermore, complications that may occur with oesophageal banding include and not limited to band dislodgment, chest tightness, retrosternal pain, dysphagia or odynophagia, and post-EVL ulcer with or without bleeding, increase of portal hypertensive gastropathy, bacteremia, nausea, laryngeal, retrosternal pain, laceration, stricture formation, oesophageal perforation, obstructions, variceal recurrence and rebleeding.
