After locating the stone to be removed, proceed as follows:
- Insert the deflated balloon into the biliary duct through the guide wire until the distal tip is located above the stone to be removed.
- Choose one of the syringes supplied with the balloon according to desired balloon diameter.
- Fill the selected syringe with air and connect it to the proximal luer-lock connector labeled “Balloon” along with the stopcock in the open position
- Push the plunger of the syringe carefully to inflate the balloon and close the stopcock.
- Gently withdraw the inflated balloon catheter to pull the stones out of the biliary duct and drop them into the duodenum. They can be expelled naturally out of the body through the intestines.
- Open the stopcock and deflate the balloon by pulling the plunger of the syringe.
- Remove the entire device out of the endoscope carefully.
