Sphincterotomes/Papillotomes are intended for performing sphincterotomy (papilotomy) through the use of high frequency electrical current.
The Sphincterotomes are indicated for use in:
- The endoscopic sphincterotomy of the Papilla of Vater and/or the Sphincter of Oddi.
- The selective cannulation of the Common Bile Ducts (Selective cannulation is a prerequisite for successful pancreaticobiliary endoscopic interventions such as stone removal or stent placement)
The Sphincterotomes can also be used to inject contrast medium.
The Needle-Knife model K18NTL is intended for precut sphincterotomy in case of difficult cannulation.
The claimed performance are:
- Incision rate >99.5%
- Successful canulation / catheterization >80%
- Complete stone removal >90%
