Kontraindikasjonene inkluderer, men er ikke begrenset til, cricopharyngeal eller øsofageal innsnevring/striktur, kronglete øsofageale divertikler, kjent eller mistenkt øsofageal perforasjon, asymptomatiske ringer eller vev, koagulopati, aktiv infeksjon i øsofagealområdet som øsofagitt, distale øsofageale svulster, graviditet. Bruk av ligasjonsbånd er kontraindisert hos pasienter med kjent overfølsomhet for latex og for enhver annen tilstand som ellers ville kontraindisert gastrointestinal endoskopi.
The contraindications include without being limited to cricopharyngeal or oesophageal narrowing/stricture, tortuous oesophageal diverticula, known or suspected oesophageal perforation, asymptomatic rings or webs, coagulopathy, active infection in the esophageal area such as esophagitis, distal esophageal tumors, pregnancy. Use of ligation bands is contraindicated in patients with a known hypersensitivity to latex and for any other condition which would otherwise contraindicate gastrointestinal endoscopy.
