Peritonitis, Fragility of the intestinal wall (e.g. ulcerative colitis, diverticulitis, colitis ulcerosa, toxic megacolon), Fulminant colitis, Ileus, Not prepped bowel, Recent gastrointestinal anastomosis, Acute abdomen.
General contraindications:
Non fasted patient, Severe respiratory insufficiency, Acute perforation of the tracts, Primary endoscopy, colonoscopy, rectoscopy; Sepsis, Pregnancy.
Moreover, an analysis of the risk/benefit ratio should be established by endoscopist and cardiologist for patients using anticoagulants or anti-aggregants.
