Cysto and pseudocyst Stents are used to drain pseudo-cysts through the digestive wall or to drain fistulas post operation.
The claimed clinical performance are:
- Successful drainage of cyst or pseudocyst: Technical success by insertion of at least one stent between the pseudocyst and the digestive lumen (80-100%) and clinical success by the disappearance of symptoms with complete resolution of the pseudocyst or a decrease in size to less than 2 cm (75-96%)
- Successful drainage or closure of fistula: Technical success based on successful deployment of the pigtail stent across the leak (91-100%) and clinical success (78-96%)
