- Connect the active cord to HF connector at the handle and to the HF-generator. (refer to the HF generator manufacturer instruction for proper connection)
- After connecting the active cord to the HF-generator the sphincterotomy (papillotomy) could be initiated.
- Verify, with the HF generator and the attached HF-cord, that the electrical circuit has been correctly created.
- Apply HF-electric current on the papillotomes for a brief moment, usually less than 5-10 seconds (Please observe HF generator manufacturer’s instructions!).
Do not touch other tissue areas with the cutting wire when using HF electric current (high risk of hurt for the patient).
Do not inject contrast when using HF electric current.
For devices that accept guide wire, it is strongly recommended to pull the guide wire back into the tube while using HF current in order to avoid a possible induction of voltage on the guide wire.
