Possible complications associated with current application include perforation and bleeding. Permanent and/or serious side effects of Sphincterotome Papillotome are related to the most frequent complications of endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) and endoscopic biliary sphincterotomy, which include: acute pancreatitis, post-sphincterotomy bleeding/hemorrage, sepsis of biliary origin (cholangitis and cholecystitis) and duodenal perforation.
